Navigation made easy

Making your website easy to navigate is essential, so your visitors can find the information they are looking for without being left frustrated and browsing your competitors website instead.

We have done a couple of things to make navigation easy for you to set up.

New (sub) page equals new menu point

When you create a page or sub-page it will automatically be added to your menu with the same name as you have used in the backend. The menu name is optional and can be changed, and  furthermore the menu point can be hidden with our setup, and it's just a few clicks away in the backend. The page will be added to the correct hierarchical place in the menu e.g. a sub-page is added to the parent page. See image below:

Breadcrumbs

A key to give users a good experience is to make the website very simple and easy manageable. If your website contains a lot of content it can be useful to use breadcrumbs, so your visitor never will get lost even though they navigate through a lot of content.

Breadcrumbs should follow a few simple rules:

  • The hierarchy should always be displayed using hierarchy from the root (front page) to the current page. Even though the visitor has not navigated to the sub-page via the hierarchy, this should be the case.
  • The breadcrumbs should not show the history trail the user has clicked through, but the above mentioned hierarchy.
  • The breadcrumbs should contain links. That way the visitor have the option to roll back and perhaps find other relevant information.
  • The breadcrumbs should use arrows like > or → to display the hierarchy instead of - or |.
